I’ve answered this question on a recent phone coaching call and realized that it’s something that is easily answered yet only completely understood when put into practice. For example you just met a girl this weekend and she gave you her phone number. You give her a call. No answer. Leave a message. No call in return. Where do you go from here? Well let’s take a few steps back and fix this from reoccurring in the future. The reason for this is because you shouldn’t be so hung up on one girl in the first place. If a car salesman closes deals with 10% of the people he speaks to then how does he increase his numbers? One way is to learn and practice new sales techniques; number two is to talk to more clients. If you get more numbers you won’t even remember if a girl calls you back or not. Let’s continue this article assuming you have no problems asking women for their phone numbers.
1. Build Rapport
This is a sure-fire way to make sure not only will she remember you but also she will remember the actual conversation you shared. Build Rapport by sharing something you hold a close emotional connection to. Share it without hiding or shielding the way you feel about them. It may be a story about how you used to get picked on as a child. The key to this is to make sure you refrain from feeling attacked in away and actually feel proud of a story you would normally feel embarrassed sharing. This will make her feel like she has known forever and creates a bond that only best friends or lovers do.
2. Set up a Date Immediately
This may be just as, if not more important then building Rapport. Many guys fail to put themselves in the shoes of the woman when trying to analyze their current dating situation. The reason she hasn’t replied to your attempts at reaching her is because there was no initial reason to. When you first meet her and it comes time to go for the number what do you do? Make sure you get her to agree with meeting up with you again. Even if plans change later on. The point is to get her to feel comfortable with the idea of seeing you again.
3. Get Her Intrigued
Don’t wait too long to give her a call or text her. The old 3-day Swingers rule is out the window. If she is a not only good-looking but also participates in a healthy social-life she will more than have forgotten about you in 3 days. Normally texting is the way to go since you may not know when she is busy working or out with her family. Send a playfully teasing text message that separates you from the cliché “Hey, What’s up Baby?” kind of messages.

Practicing safe text is an art form itself. Ultimately, you want to take things a bit light in the beginning. Usually when she reads these messages she will be at work or school and a funny message can brighten her day. Messages full of witty-lines, bad elementary school style jokes and open-ended questions are always a good start. If this doesn’t get her curious than don’t be afraid to tell her to lighten up a bit. Persistence is key here, if she doesn’t reply still, wait a few weeks and try again. Who knows? She might have been going through a difficult breakup.
5. Persistence
Another reason she might have not returned your calls is because when you first met her you didn’t show enough interest in her. Some guys fall into “Too Cool for School” category and you most likely messed up by playing it too smooth. Fix this by next time telling her why you want to call her before getting her phone number. If you have been texting her and she has been answering the messages by doesn’t ever seem to be free for a date, then you are going to have to give her a call. Sometimes that’s all a girl needs, is to hear your voice and determine whether or not you’re really a creep.
